Emerson “Marciano” Cannon, a regular with me, kindly produced this video to illustrate the knot that we use 99% of the time in Baja. I have no stats, but it works. It is easy, does not use much tippet up and has been extremely dependable. I start out with about an 1 1/2″ through the eye instead of more. The Captains often tie it without having to cut off anything:
